- Everyone's role for today assigned and understood, as set out in the dive plan
- Qualifications and medical certificates seen and in date
- Briefing given: task, hazards, communications, emergency procedures
- Anyone reporting illness, injury or a reason they should not dive has told the supervisor
Conditions
- Weather, sea state, tide/current and visibility checked against the limits in the plan
- Vessel traffic, intakes, discharges and moving machinery identified and controlled
- Water entry and exit points agreed and clear
Equipment
- Pre-use checks done to the manufacturer's instructions and company procedures, and recorded
- Breathing gas supplies checked as your procedures require, including any analysis
- Communications tested with each diver
- Defects reported, equipment tagged out where needed
Emergency arrangements
- Emergency plan for this site confirmed, including contacts and how to reach them from here
- First aid and emergency equipment named in the plan is on site and checked
- Everyone knows who does what in an emergency
